FLORY
Design Story
Flory draws its primary inspiration from the softly aged beauty of Italian fresco paintings, where florals appear gently diffused into plaster and colour is mellowed by time. The design reflects this atmospheric quality, favouring flowing forms and painterly transitions that give the pattern a calm, decorative presence without overwhelming a space.
Printed on non-woven wallpaper, Flory combines practicality with refinement, offering durability while maintaining the appearance of hand-painted artwork. The colourways have been carefully selected to echo the muted elegance typical of fresco interiors. Considered rather than decorative for its own sake, ensuring the design sits effortlessly within both classic and contemporary settings.
PAPER FLORA
Design Story
Paper Flora draws its inspiration from historic paper cuttings, celebrating the artistry and patience behind finely crafted botanical forms. Rather than being painted, the design is created from paper-cut flowers that are carefully embossed to introduce relief, then photographed. This process lends the pattern a distinctive three-dimensional effect, where light and shadow animate the surface with quiet sophistication.
The defined edges of the cut forms bring clarity to the composition, while the embossed texture introduces depth without heaviness. Paper Flora balances delicacy with structure, resulting in a design that feels both considered and tactile, an elegant interpretation of traditional paper craftsmanship for contemporary interiors.
TANGLEBY
Design Story
Tangelby is derived from the silhouette of the Flory design, refined into a quieter and more understated expression. By distilling the original floral shapes to their essential outline and introducing a subtle texture, the pattern gains depth while maintaining a calm visual presence.
Executed in a simple two-colour palette, Tangelby is designed to function effortlessly as a coordinate, versatile enough to support more decorative patterns while still offering interest in its own right. Its restrained composition makes it particularly adaptable, bringing gentle structure to an interior without competing for attention. The result is a design that feels thoughtful, practical, and elegantly resolved.
STITCHED GRASSCLOTH
Design Story
Stitched Grasscloth evolves from the original Stitched Birds design, where the supporting motif has been given space to stand independently. By removing the birds and increasing the scale of the repeat, the pattern takes on a calmer rhythm, allowing the stitched effect to become the defining feature rather than a secondary detail.
Designed to evoke the character of sewn fabric, the motif carries a gentle linear quality that feels both structured and tactile. When printed onto grasscloth, the natural ground enhances this textile illusion, adding an organic layer of texture that enriches the overall surface. Available in three carefully considered colourways, Stitched Grasscloth is intended to bring quiet depth to a scheme, a design that prioritises materiality, restraint, and understated craftsmanship.
FLORY LINEN
Design Story
Flory Linen carries forward the fresco-inspired character of the original design while introducing the quiet richness of a paper-backed linen ground. The softly flowing florals retain their atmospheric quality, echoing the diffused appearance of painted plaster, yet the woven surface brings an additional dimension, one that feels both natural and quietly luxurious.
The linen texture gently interrupts the printed pattern, creating subtle variation across the surface and preventing the design from appearing overly formal. This interplay between artwork and material gives the wallcovering a relaxed sophistication, well suited to interiors that favour warmth and depth over high contrast. Carefully considered colourways complement the textile base, ensuring the design remains harmonious, tactile, and enduring.
MENGLA GRASSCLOTH
Design Story
Mengla is a tree design formed from precisely cut paper shapes that are embossed to create gentle relief, giving the pattern a sculptural and quietly dimensional quality. Once photographed, these raised forms capture light beautifully, allowing the design to shift subtly across the surface.
Designed to be printed on grasscloth, the natural fibres enrich the artwork with an additional layer of texture, enhancing the organic character of the trees while lending the wallcovering a grounded, tactile appeal. The composition offers a restrained nod to Eastern design traditions, where trees are depicted with balance, elegance, and an appreciation for negative space. Inspired in part by the earlier Stockend Woods design, Mengla revisits the theme with a more refined and simplified hand, allowing each tree to feel poised rather than decorative. The result is a pattern that brings calm structure and natural presence to an interior, sophisticated, textural, and quietly atmospheric.
